Making Space: architecture and design for young people

 

An international conference promoting innovation, creativity and sustainability in design for children and young people aged 0-18

 

7 - 8 October 2010, Our Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Road, Edinburgh

 

This major conference brings together a range of international experts who will examine issues related to children and space from aspects of how children and young people relate to their environment and its impact on their development to what makes a good learning environment and what we need to focus on in the future. As well as plenary sessions, delegates will be invited to join one of three study tours visiting inspiring and innovative new buildings and projects in Central Scotland and hearing from those directly involved in their design and planning.

 

Delegates attending this conference will have an unparalleled opportunity to:

  • hear from academics and design specialists who have been involved in projects across Scotland

Architecture award presentation, conference dinner and accommodation

 

The Making Space 2010 Architecture Award winners will be announced and presented by Michael Russell MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning at the conference dinner, which follows a drinks reception in the Great Scots Hall of the Radisson Blu Hotel on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh on Thursday 7 October.
