Post: Senior Manager, Enquire (maternity cover)

Location: Edinburgh

Objective:

To be responsible for planning, managing, marketing and delivering Enquire – the Scottish advice service for additional support for learning – encompassing a telephone helpline; publications for a range of different audiences in a range of formats; and a programme of training and outreach work. The post is one of two senior manager posts, working on a job share basis for some aspects of the work.

Post: Communications Manager

Location: Edinburgh

Objective: 

To lead and manage the agency’s Communications Department (currently two communications officers, an assistant communications officer and a designer, in addition to the manager and support outwith the department from the  Business Development Manager.) 

The department is responsible for a range of print and web based information distributed within Scotland, the UK and European Union; press and media relations and two key  annual promotional conferences.

ENABLE Scotland

ENABLE Scotland is a dynamic organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities across Scotland.

REGIONAL CO-ORDINATOR: for children and young people in the East of Scotland (Edinburgh, East Lothian and Fife).   (Ref: A/992)

Salary: £10,834 per annum (18 hours per week).

Two year fixed term contract.

Would you like to work for young people with learning disabilities, aged 11 to 25.  You will be assisting each young person to express their hopes and dreams so that they can be fully included in youth activities and structures and experience real inclusion. 

We are searching for an individual who is enthusiastic, energetic, self- motivated, resourceful, imaginative and can build and support opportunities for young people to participate in their local community. 

We believe in developing all our staff and provide an extensive training programme, combined with a commitment to create career development opportunities within ENABLE Scotland. We offer positive terms and conditions including a contributory pension scheme and a flexible pay system with bonus.

Young Persons’ Worker Highland

Full time SCP 23-31, £19,311-£24,942

We are looking for a “Young Persons’ Worker” in Highland to work for a dynamic and influential organisation that this year celebrates 30 years of working to give young people in care a voice.

Based in Inverness you will aim to improve outcomes for young people by providing advocacy support and consultation work with children and young people looked after and accommodated throughout Highland. As well as working closely with Highland Council and other local partners you will be part our regional and national teams. Suitable experience and preferably a relevant qualification are required. The post involves significant travel; therefore a full driving licence and own transport are essential.

As well as a competitive salary we offer good conditions of employment, regular training, support and professional development opportunities. So if you:

  • Have experience of working directly with children and young people
  • Have a good understanding of issues affecting those living in care
  • Have knowledge of advocacy and its principles
