Training and Engagement Officerchildren in scotland l

Full time

Salary: £23,697 - £29,445 per annum

Location: Edinburgh

Scotland’s national membership agency exists to help build better childhoods for Scotland’s children, young people and their families.

In this exciting new role, you will plan, deliver and evaluate a series of accessible, interactive and engaging learning and development activities for children and young people as part of the Lifeskills programme.  You will also be responsible for the delivery of continuous professional development to practitioners, in line with the Children in Scotland Training Strategy.

The Lifeskills programme seeks to support young people accessing the world of work through an exciting education programme on basic employability skills, people and money. The programme is funded and supported by Barclays and will be supported by a network of volunteers. Children in Scotland is the charity partner in Scotland delivering the programme, which will prioritise those in the most disadvantaged areas. 

Funding is initially until August 2015 but it is hopeful that it will continue beyond this date.

Helpline Officer

Full time

Salary: £23,697 - £29,445 per annum

Location: Edinburgh

Hosted by Children in Scotland, Enquire is the Scottish advice service for additional support for learning. Enquire provides advice and information to parents and carers, children and young people and practitioners through a telephone helpline, two websites and range of publications.

You will answer enquiries via the telephone helpline and other channels from individuals based on the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004, as amended, and other associated legislation. You will contribute to gathering and monitoring information from service users that enables the service to report on enquiry themes and emerging issues. You will also assist in the maintenance and development of a resource bank of information materials.

Funding is currently confirmed to 31 March 2015, with expectation that it will continue beyond this date.

Children in Scotland is seeking self employed freelance trainers to deliver quality specialised training across Scotland. Specific areas of interest include services for fathers, additional support needs and integrated children’s services, but if you have experience delivering training on any area relating to children and young people, we would like to hear from you.
