An international award and conference promoting innovation, creativity and sustainability in design for children and young people aged 0-18.
Full conference programme and speakers announced, early bird rates now available.
Making Space 2010 international award supported by the Scottish Government invites submissions from across the world for the most successful building or space (indoor or outdoor) for children and young people aged 0-18 (inclusive), completed between January 2005 and December 2010. These could include schools, nurseries, school-age childcare services, recreational, cultural or community centres for children, families and young people, combined services for this age group or services shared with other age groups, play areas or street furnishings such as school bus shelters.
Closing date: 8 August 2010
The international conference, on 7-8 October 2010 will include two days of presentations, and study visits to centres of excellence across the country, and will encourage debate and stimulate discussion on promoting innovative design, allowing architects, planners and those working with young people in a variety of settings to share ideas and challenge conventional architectural approaches. We will also look at the vision and delivery of Scotland's Building Better Schools document and School Estate Strategy.
