Aims & Objectives

Aims of the policy section

  1. To make a positive contribution to policies, legislation and practice affecting children, young people and their families, at a local, national and European level.
  2. To conduct a research programme that underpins the above and contributes to knowledge in relation to children, young people and their families.

Objectives of policy section

  1. To disseminate and facilitate the exchange of information on policy and research
  2. To create opportunities for, and collaborative working with, member and other relevant organisations
  3. To support the work of the Children’s Commissioner and initiate and respond to contemporary policy debates affecting children, young people and their families and the provision of services to them
  4. To provide opportunities for children, young people and their families to take part in policy-making processes
  5. To review and respond to relevant policy and legislative documents
  6. To work with the research section and ensure that their research programmes are inclusive and recognise the diversity of children, young people and their families.
