Aims & Objectives
Aims of the policy section
- To make a positive contribution to policies, legislation and practice
affecting children, young people and their families, at a local, national
and European level.
- To conduct a research programme that underpins the above and contributes
to knowledge in relation to children, young people and their families.
Objectives
of policy section
- To disseminate and facilitate the exchange of information
on policy and research
- To create opportunities for, and collaborative working
with, member and other relevant organisations
- To support the work of the Children’s Commissioner and initiate
and respond to contemporary policy debates affecting children, young
people and their families and the provision of services to them
- To provide opportunities for children, young
people and their families to take part in policy-making processes
- To review and respond to relevant policy and legislative
documents
- To work with the research section and ensure that
their research programmes are inclusive and recognise the diversity
of children,
young people
and their families.
