Whats New RESEARCH Survey of Children and Young People's Participation in Mental Health Services and Services that Impact on Their Mental Health and Well-being. Through HeadsUpScotland - the national project for children and young peoples mental health, established by the Scottish Executive in 2004 - Children in Scotland is undertaking a study on how public agencies are involving children and young people in mental health services and services that impact on their mental health and wellbeing. The results of this survey will be compiled in a published report, and disseminated through HeadsUpScotland, and the partnership between Barnardos, Penumbra and Children in Scotland. The report will be posted here in due course. Research has shown that the meaningful involvement of children and young people in decision-making about their own care, and in the planning and design of services that they use, contributes to well-being and good mental health. This research will help to highlight the work required to ensure meaningful involvement in the future. Promoting the participation of children and young people in decision-making
