The Scottish Government - and (less often) the Scottish, UK and European parliaments (or other public bodies) - seek comments and advice about their proposed policies, laws, strategies and regulations. These can be valuable opportunites for Children in Scotland and its members to point out their errors or omissions - and to make recommendations about how government proposals can be improved.
CiS Members sometimes submit their own consultation responses - and sometimes prefer to offer their views and evidence for inclusion in Children in Scotland's response. We always inform Members of current consultations and occasionally convene consultation events with Members to arrive at a unified response on key policy issues.
