Early years / Training / Workforce -
The Right Training to Give Young Children the Right Start
The effectiveness of training for early education and childcare practitioners in the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway - a summary report
An easy-to-read summary report - a useful resource for early education and childcare professionals as well as those involved in planning and delivering CPD and qualifications to the early education and childcare sector
This research, jointly commissioned by Scottish Borders Council and Dumfries & Galloway Council, assessed the perceived effectiveness of training opportunities for early education and childcare practitioners.
The registration and regulation of care and play services in Scotland means practitioners are now expected to attain a minimum level of qualification. Experienced practitioners the length and breadth of Scotland have undergone or now are receiving -- relevant training. It is therefore vital that training is available to ensure that the early years workforce can continuously upgrade its skills and knowledge. The findings of this research have provided a solid foundation for planning and delivering current and future training opportunities to the workforce.
