Investing in Ideas: Equalities Research Children's life chances can be severely damaged if they are subjected to discriminatory behaviour because of their race, ethnicity, nationality or religion. The Investing in Ideas project builds on a previous Children in Scotland project called Equal Futures: Children and young people building racial equalities. The project will: a) undertake a mapping exercise of activities that are currently underway in Scotland, by schools, health boards, local authorities, voluntary sector organisations and other agencies and groups, to reduce discriminatory behaviour by, and towards, children and young people. b) seek the views of those involved in these activities on whether Scotland should have it’s own Children and Young Persons Anti-discriminatory Coalition. c) host two consultation seminars, in Stirling and Inverness, to discuss - with interested parties - the findings from the mapping exercise and the practicalities of developing a Scottish Anti-discriminatory Coalition. If you would like to provide information about activities your organisation is undertaking or share your views on a Scottish Coalition and sign up to one of our consultation events please complete the online survey. If you would like more information about this project, please contact Heike Tarara.
