Working it out

Help shape the future of Scotland's children's sector workforce.

Newsletter, issue 3

As part of a 12-month programme exploring children's sector workforce development in Scotland, Children in Scotland will publish a series of four newsletters.

In this issue, a series of proposals for future reform of the children’s sector workforce have emerged from a recent symposium, which brought together key stakeholders across the Scottish children’s sector. Key proposals include a common language across the sector, a focus on improving undervalued parts of the workforce, core knowledge and skills supported by a simplified qualifications framework and further research into the potential of using the Scottish pedagogy model.

This programme of work builds on ideas put forward in the book Working it out: developing the children's sector workforce.
